Job Description

Chevron is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Chemical Engineer to join our dynamic team. Key Responsibilities

  • Design, analyze, and optimize chemical processes to enhance efficiency, safety, and environmental performance.
  • Conduct process simulations, modeling, and economic evaluations for new and existing projects.
  • Develop and implement process improvements, debottlenecking strategies, and troubleshooting solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental policies.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including operations, maintenance, and R&D to achieve project goals.
  • Prepare detailed engineering reports, specifications, and P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams).
  • Participate in Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) and other safety reviews.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies and equipment to improve process capabilities and reduce costs.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in process engineering within the oil & gas, petrochemical, or chemical manufacturing industry.
  • Strong understanding of chemical engineering principles, including thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, heat transfer, and mass transfer.
  • Proficiency in process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Hysys, Aspen Plus, PRO/II).
  • Demonstrated ability to perform process calculations, material and energy balances.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working effectively in team environments.
  • Commitment to safety and environmental stewardship.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree or Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or actively pursuing licensure.
  • Experience with advanced process control systems (APC).
  • Familiarity with industry standards such as API, ASME, and ISA.
  • Project management experience.
  • Experience with data analytics and visualization tools.
