Job Description
Chevron is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Chemical Engineer to join our dynamic team. This pivotal role involves contributing to the design, optimization, and safe operation of chemical processes within our facilities, ensuring efficiency, environmental compliance, and cost-effectiveness. Key Responsibilities
- Design, analyze, and optimize chemical processes to enhance efficiency, safety, and environmental performance.
- Conduct process simulations, modeling, and economic evaluations for new and existing projects.
- Develop and implement process improvements, debottlenecking strategies, and troubleshooting solutions.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental policies.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including operations, maintenance, and R&D to achieve project goals.
- Prepare detailed engineering reports, specifications, and P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams).
- Participate in Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) and other safety reviews.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies and equipment to improve process capabilities and reduce costs.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in process engineering within the oil & gas, petrochemical, or chemical manufacturing industry.
- Strong understanding of chemical engineering principles, including thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, heat transfer, and mass transfer.
- Proficiency in process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Hysys, Aspen Plus, PRO/II).
- Demonstrated ability to perform process calculations, material and energy balances.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working effectively in team environments.
- Commitment to safety and environmental stewardship.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree or Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or actively pursuing licensure.
- Experience with advanced process control systems (APC).
- Familiarity with industry standards such as API, ASME, and ISA.
- Project management experience.
- Experience with data analytics and visualization tools.
