Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Head Chef and other kitchen staff in the daily preparation and cooking of meals.
  • Prepare ingredients by washing, chopping, slicing, and dicing a variety of food items.
  • Follow recipes and cooking instructions accurately to ensure consistency and quality.
  • Operate and maintain kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, grills, and fryers safely and efficiently.
  • Monitor food stock and communicate inventory needs to ensure adequate supplies are always available.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen workstation and storage areas.
  • Adhere strictly to all food safety and hygiene regulations and standards.
  • Assist with receiving and storing deliveries, ensuring proper rotation of stock.
  • Support in plating dishes for service, ensuring attractive and professional presentation.
  • Collaborate effectively with the entire kitchen team to ensure smooth service operations.
  • Contribute to menu development and innovation, suggesting new ideas and techniques.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Cook, Chef, or Kitchen Assistant in a reputable establishment.
  • Solid understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of best practices for food handling, sanitation, and safety regulations.
