Job Description
Montpeliers Bar & Restaurant is seeking an exceptionally talented and dedicated Chef with a strong background in Continental, Local (Scottish), and Fine Dining cuisine to join our dynamic kitchen team. Key Responsibilities
- Execute and oversee the preparation and cooking of dishes across Continental, Local Scottish, and Fine Dining menus.
- Contribute to menu development, bringing innovative ideas and seasonal specials that align with the restaurant's culinary vision.
- Ensure all food preparation meets the highest standards of quality, freshness, and presentation.
- Maintain strict adherence to health, safety, and hygiene regulations (HACCP) in all kitchen operations.
- Manage and train junior kitchen staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Monitor inventory levels, assist with ordering, and minimize food waste to control costs.
- Collaborate with the Head Chef and front-of-house team to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Operate and maintain all kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
- Handle special dietary requirements and allergies with utmost care and attention.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (minimum 3 years) as a Chef in a professional kitchen, with a strong emphasis on Continental, Local, and Fine Dining cuisines.
- Exceptional knife skills and a deep understanding of various cooking techniques.
- Demonstrable creativity and passion for developing new and exciting dishes.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
- Excellent knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations (e.g., HACCP certification).
