Key Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and feeding.
- Help residents with mobility, transfers, and ambulation, utilizing proper body mechanics and assistive devices as needed.
- Monitor and record vital signs, intake and output, and report any changes in residents' condition promptly to the nursing staff.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment for residents, ensuring their comfort and well-being.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to residents, engaging them in conversation and activities.
- Assist with meal service, ensuring residents receive appropriate nutrition and hydration.
- Document care provided accurately and thoroughly in resident records, following facility policies and procedures.
- Respond to call lights and resident requests in a timely and professional manner.
- Adhere to all HIPAA regulations and maintain strict confidentiality of resident information.
- Collaborate effectively with the nursing team, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive resident care.
Required Skills
- Current and active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in the State of Oregon
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Proven ability to provide compassionate and patient-centered care
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to read, write, and understand English
- Strong observational and reporting skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Basic computer literacy for documentation purposes
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience working in a long-term care or skilled nursing facility
- BLS/CPR certification
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems
