Job Description
We are seeking a highly vigilant and experienced CCTV Operator to join our dedicated security team in Kindu. As a vital member of our Control Room operations, you will be responsible for round-the-clock monitoring of our facilities and critical infrastructure, utilizing state-of-the-art surveillance systems. Your primary objective will be to detect, analyze, and report any suspicious activities, security breaches, or potential threats in real-time, contributing significantly to the overall safety and security of Vodacom Congo’s assets and personnel. This role demands exceptional attention to detail, quick decision-making under pressure, and a proactive approach to security management. You will play a crucial role in maintaining a secure environment, responding to alarms, and coordinating with on-site security personnel and emergency services as required. Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor CCTV cameras and associated surveillance equipment across multiple sites.
- Proactively identify and report any suspicious activities, security incidents, or breaches in accordance with established protocols.
- Maintain accurate and detailed logs of all security events, incidents, and actions taken.
- Respond promptly to alarms and emergency situations, assessing the severity and escalating as necessary.
- Coordinate effectively with on-site security teams, management, and external emergency services during incidents.
- Conduct regular system checks to ensure all CCTV equipment is fully operational and report any malfunctions.
- Assist in the investigation of security incidents by retrieving and reviewing relevant footage.
- Adhere strictly to data protection guidelines and maintain the confidentiality of all surveillance information.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of security procedures and practices.
Required Skills
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a CCTV control room or similar security monitoring role.
- Proficiency in operating various CCTV surveillance systems and associated software.
- Excellent observational skills with a keen eye for detail and identifying anomalies.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective reporting and coordination.
- Ability to remain calm, focused, and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Basic computer literacy, including MS Office Suite.
- Understanding of security protocols and emergency response procedures.
- High level of integrity and discretion.
Preferred Qualifications
- Security-related certifications (e.g., in surveillance, control room operations).
- Familiarity with telecommunications infrastructure security.
- Fluency in Swahili or other local languages.
- Prior experience working in a high-risk or challenging operational environment.
