Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the setup of event spaces, including arranging tables, chairs, linens, dishware, and decorations according to event specifications and diagrams.
  • Serve food and beverages to guests in a professional and courteous manner, adhering to all food safety and service standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of event areas throughout the duration of events, including clearing plates, refilling beverages, and addressing guest needs promptly.
  • Replenish food stations, buffets, and beverage areas as needed, ensuring presentations remain attractive and fully stocked.
  • Handle guest inquiries and special requests with a positive attitude, escalating complex issues to event management as necessary.
  • Assist with the breakdown and cleanup of event spaces, including clearing tables, washing dishes, packing equipment, and ensuring the venue is left spotless.
  • Operate basic catering equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and hygiene regulations, including proper food handling procedures.
  • Collaborate effectively with fellow team members and event managers to ensure smooth event execution.
  • Represent Clearwater Marine Aquarium with professionalism and enthusiasm at all times.

Required Skills

  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
  • Strong customer service orientation and a commitment to guest satisfaction.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods, lift up to 25 pounds, and perform repetitive movements.
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as dictated by event schedules.
  • Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation principles.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum of 6 months of experience in catering, banquets, restaurant, or hospitality service.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Current Food Handler's certification or ability to obtain one upon hire.
  • Experience with event setup and breakdown processes.
  • Familiarity with various types of food and beverage service.
