As a Catering Assistant, you will play a crucial role in the preparation, setup, service, and breakdown of our catering events. Key Responsibilities
- Assist with food preparation, including washing, chopping, and organizing ingredients according to chef's instructions.
- Set up catering events, including arranging tables, chairs, linens, cutlery, glassware, and food displays.
- Serve food and beverages to guests in a professional and courteous manner.
- Ensure cleanliness and sanitation standards are maintained throughout food service areas.
- Replenish food stations, clear tables, and assist with dishwashing and kitchen cleanup during and after events.
- Load and unload catering equipment and supplies for transport to and from event venues.
- Interact positively with clients and guests, addressing any needs or questions promptly and politely.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including proper food handling and storage procedures.
Required Skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods, lift heavy items (up to 25 lbs), and move quickly.
- Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by event schedules.
- A positive attitude and a passion for providing excellent customer service.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a catering, restaurant, or hospitality setting.
- Food Handler's Certificate (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
- Valid G-Class driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.
- Ability to speak multiple languages is considered an asset, given our diverse clientele and team.
