Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Caterer to join our dynamic Event/Food team in Rumuibekwe Estate, Port Harcourt. Key Responsibilities
- Plan and execute diverse catering menus in collaboration with clients and the culinary team, ensuring adherence to dietary restrictions and preferences.
- Oversee all aspects of food preparation, cooking, and presentation for various events, ensuring exceptional quality and aesthetic appeal.
- Manage kitchen operations, including inventory control, ordering supplies, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
- Lead and motivate a team of kitchen staff and servers, providing guidance and ensuring efficient workflow during events.
- Maintain strict adherence to food safety and hygiene standards (HACCP principles) at all times.
- Set up and dismantle catering equipment, buffets, and food stations at event venues.
- Interact directly with clients to confirm event details, address concerns, and ensure their complete satisfaction.
- Estimate food quantities and costs, managing budgets effectively to ensure profitability.
- Monitor food quality and portion control to uphold company standards and minimize waste.
- Handle on-site problem-solving and adapt to unexpected challenges during events.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Caterer or in a similar culinary role, specifically within event catering.
- Excellent culinary skills, with a diverse repertoire of cooking techniques and cuisines.
- Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Exceptional organizational and time management abilities, capable of handling multiple events simultaneously.
- Creative flair for food presentation and menu development.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for client interaction and team leadership.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift heavy equipment.
