Job Description

Key Responsibilities
- Accurately and efficiently process customer transactions using Point-of-Sale (POS) systems.
- Handle cash, credit/debit card payments, and other forms of payment with precision and integrity.
- Issue receipts, refunds, credits, or change due to customers.
- Greet customers warmly, answer questions, and provide excellent customer service at all times.
- Assist customers in locating products and provide recommendations when needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized checkout area and surrounding store sections.
- Stock shelves, arrange displays, and ensure products are properly priced and presented.
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate stock discrepancies to supervisors.
- Assist with receiving and unpacking merchandise as required.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including those related to loss prevention and safety.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth store operations and a positive shopping environment.
Required Skills
- Proven ability to handle cash accurately and operate POS systems.
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong customer service orientation with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
- Basic mathematical proficiency for calculations and change management.
- High level of integrity, reliability, and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of an SSCE (Senior School Certificate Examination) or OND (Ordinary National Diploma).
- Previous experience (6-12 months) in a retail cashier or customer service role.
- Familiarity with various product categories typically found in a supermarket.
- Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new systems and procedures.
