As a Carpenter with ANF Group, you will play a crucial role in various stages of construction, working on diverse projects ranging from large-scale commercial buildings and healthcare facilities to educational institutions and high-end residential developments. Your expertise will be vital in ensuring the structural integrity, safety, and aesthetic quality of our builds. You will be responsible for meticulously interpreting blueprints and construction drawings, accurately measuring and cutting materials, assembling frameworks, installing fixtures, and ensuring all carpentry work meets our rigorous quality standards and complies with all relevant safety regulations and building codes. Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine specifications and calculate material requirements.
- Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, and other materials with precision.
- Erect and dismantle scaffolding, shoring, bracing, and other temporary structures safely and efficiently.
- Install structures and fixtures, such as windows, doors, frames, floors, ceilings, staircases, and cabinetry.
- Inspect and replace damaged framework or other structures and fixtures, ensuring structural integrity.
- Collaborate effectively with other construction professionals, including project managers, supervisors, and various tradespeople.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety protocols, regulations, and industry standards on job sites, promoting a safe working environment for all.
- Maintain and clean tools, equipment, and work areas, ensuring they are in optimal working condition.
- Assist with the training and mentoring of junior carpenters or apprentices as needed, sharing knowledge and best practices.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of verifiable experience as a Carpenter in commercial or large-scale residential construction.
- Demonstrated proficiency in both rough carpentry (framing, structural work) and finish carpentry (trim, cabinetry, installations).
- Expertise in safely and effectively using a wide range of hand tools, power tools, and specialized carpentry equipment.
- Strong ability to accurately read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and complex construction drawings.
- Solid understanding of local building codes, safety guidelines (OSHA), and quality control standards.
- Physical stamina and strength to perform manual labor, lift heavy materials (up to 50 lbs), and work in various weather conditions and elevated heights.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to work efficiently and productively, both independently and as an integral part of a larger construction team.
- Eligibility for or current possession of a Skilled Trade Visa for the U.S., or the ability to secure one with company support.
Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of a recognized carpentry apprenticeship program or vocational training from an accredited institution.
- Current OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
- Experience with advanced framing techniques, prefabrication, or specialized finish carpentry applications.
- Bilingual proficiency (English/Spanish) is a significant advantage, given the diverse workforce and community in Miami.
- Proven track record of successfully completing construction projects on time, within budget, and to high quality standards.
