Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Carpenter specializing in furniture and interior work to join our dynamic team in Uyo. As a Carpenter at CENSA Building Services Limited, you will be instrumental in crafting custom furniture pieces and executing intricate interior finishing work for our diverse projects. This role requires a meticulous individual with a keen eye for detail, exceptional craftsmanship, and a deep understanding of various wood types and joinery techniques. You will be responsible for bringing design concepts to life, from initial measurements and material selection to cutting, shaping, assembling, and installing wooden components. Your expertise will contribute significantly to the aesthetic appeal and functional integrity of our residential, commercial, and bespoke interior spaces. Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirements for carpentry projects.
- Measure, cut, shape, and assemble wood, laminates, and other materials according to project specifications, ensuring precision and accuracy.
- Fabricate and install custom furniture, cabinetry, shelving units, doors, window frames, stairways, and other wooden fixtures.
- Perform intricate interior finishing work, including the installation of trim, molding, baseboards, crown molding, and other decorative elements.
- Operate a variety of woodworking machinery, hand tools, and power tools safely and efficiently.
- Inspect and repair wooden structures, furniture, and fixtures, ensuring durability and aesthetic appeal.
- Collaborate effectively with architects, designers, project managers, and other tradespeople to ensure seamless project execution.
- Ensure all work adheres to building codes, safety regulations, and company quality standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Manage material inventory, order necessary supplies, and minimize waste.
Required Skills
- Proven proficiency in carpentry techniques, including joinery, framing, and finishing.
- Expertise in operating a wide range of carpentry tools, both hand and power tools.
- Ability to accurately read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Strong understanding of different wood types, their properties, and appropriate applications.
- Exceptional attention to detail and precision in craftsmanship.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot issues effectively.
