De Rima Furniture Nigeria Limited is seeking an experienced Carpenter specializing in furniture fitting and skilled craftsmanship to join our dynamic team in Shasha, Alimosho. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in the creation, assembly, and installation of high-quality custom furniture for both residential and commercial clients. Key Responsibilities
- Read, interpret, and work from blueprints, sketches, and technical drawings to create accurate and precise furniture components.
- Measure, cut, shape, and assemble wood, laminates, and other materials to construct custom furniture pieces, cabinets, and fixtures.
- Perform intricate joinery, including dovetail, mortise and tenon, and biscuit joints, to ensure structural integrity and aesthetic appeal.
- Install completed furniture, cabinetry, and fixtures on-site, ensuring proper alignment, leveling, and secure fastening.
- Conduct quality checks on all work, ensuring finishes meet company standards and client expectations.
- Repair and restore existing furniture, addressing structural damage, wear, and aesthetic imperfections.
- Operate and maintain a variety of hand tools and power machinery safely and efficiently, including saws, routers, planers, and sanders.
- Collaborate effectively with designers, project managers, and other team members to ensure project timelines and specifications are met.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
- Manage material inventory for projects, minimizing waste and optimizing resource utilization.
Required Skills
- Proven expertise in woodworking and furniture manufacturing techniques.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
- Exceptional ability to use hand tools and operate various power tools and machinery (e.g., table saws, routers, planers, sanders).
