We are seeking a highly responsible, trustworthy, and experienced Live-in Caretaker to manage and maintain a prestigious private estate located in Agege, Agege. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine inspection and maintenance of the property, including minor plumbing, electrical, and structural elements.
  • Oversee and manage external contractors for specialized repairs, ensuring work is completed to the highest standards and within budget.
  • Maintain the pristine condition of the estate's interior and exterior, including routine cleaning, gardening, landscaping, and efficient waste management.
  • Ensure the comprehensive security of the property, implementing and monitoring security systems, and responding to any alerts or incidents promptly.
  • Manage utilities, including monitoring consumption, arranging refills (e.g., generator fuel), and coordinating repairs with service providers.
  • Conduct minor repairs and preventative maintenance tasks as needed (e.g., changing light bulbs, fixing leaky faucets, painting touch-ups).
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of household supplies, tools, and equipment, and manage procurement as required with prior approval.
  • Provide regular, concise reports on the property's condition, maintenance activities, and any incidents to the estate owner or designated contact.
  • Receive and manage deliveries, ensuring items are securely stored and accounted for.
  • Oversee basic vehicle care and maintenance, including washing and ensuring vehicles are in good working order, if required.
  • Ensure all estate facilities, such as swimming pools, gyms, or recreational areas, are well-maintained, clean, and fully operational.
  • Maintain a high level of discretion, professionalism, and respect for the privacy of the estate owners and their guests.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in property maintenance or facility management (3+ years)
  • Strong practical skills in basic plumbing, electrical, and carpentry.
  • Proficiency in garden and landscape maintenance.
  • Excellent observational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong sense of responsibility, trustworthiness, and integrity.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Good communication skills (verbal and written) in English.
  • Knowledge of security systems and procedures.
  • Physical fitness to perform manual tasks.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous live-in caretaker or estate management experience.
  • Relevant trade certifications (e.g., electrical, plumbing).
  • Valid Nigerian driver's license.
  • First Aid and Safety certification.
