The Université de Kindu is seeking a dynamic Career Coach for Staff Development to join our Human Resources team. This crucial role will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and evaluating comprehensive professional development programs tailored to the needs of our diverse faculty and administrative staff. You will serve as a mentor, guide, and resource, helping our employees identify career goals, develop new skills, and navigate their professional journeys within the university and beyond. The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of career development principles, adult learning methodologies, and strong interpersonal skills. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct one-on-one career coaching sessions with faculty and staff to assess career aspirations, identify skill gaps, and develop personalized development plans.
- Design and facilitate workshops, seminars, and training programs focused on professional skills, leadership development, communication, and career advancement.
- Develop and maintain resources, tools, and materials to support staff in their professional development, including career guides, online modules, and assessment instruments.
- Collaborate with department heads and senior leadership to identify organizational development needs and align staff development initiatives with strategic university goals.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of career coaching and development programs through feedback, metrics, and outcomes, making continuous improvements.
- Stay current with best practices in career development, adult learning, and higher education HR trends.
- Advise on internal mobility pathways and opportunities within the university.
- Promote a culture of continuous learning and professional growth across all levels of the institution.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in career coaching, human resources, or organizational development.
- Strong understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Ability to build rapport and trust with diverse individuals.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with HRIS or learning management systems.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Fluency in French and English (written and spoken).
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education, or a related field.
- Certification in career coaching (e.g., ICF, BCC).
- Experience working in a higher education environment.
- Knowledge of local labor market trends and professional development resources in DR Congo.
