Job Description

Canadian Tire Corporation is seeking an enthusiastic Delivery Driver to join our team for an immediate start in the Arbor Ridge, Kuna area. This is a full-time, on-site position vital to ensuring the timely and safe transport of a diverse range of products, from automotive parts and hardware to sporting goods and general merchandise, within our extended distribution network. While Canadian Tire is primarily known in Canada, this role supports specific logistical operations that contribute to our broader supply chain, potentially involving specialized cross-border or regional distribution routes originating from the US to support our Canadian operations or local US-based partners.
As a Canadian Tire Delivery Driver, you will be the face of our logistical efforts, ensuring that goods reach their destination efficiently and intact. Your day will involve carefully loading, transporting, and unloading shipments, strictly adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations. You will navigate established routes, maintain accurate delivery logs, and communicate effectively with dispatch and receiving personnel. This role demands excellent organizational skills, a strong sense of responsibility, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Key Responsibilities
- Operate company vehicles safely and efficiently to transport goods to designated locations.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and report any maintenance issues promptly.
- Load and unload merchandise, ensuring proper handling and securing of items to prevent damage during transit.
- Follow planned delivery routes and schedules, adapting to unforeseen delays or changes as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery confirmations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and team members regarding delivery status or issues.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, company policies, and safety regulations.
- Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, representing Canadian Tire professionally.
- Ensure cleanliness and basic maintenance of the assigned vehicle.
Required Skills
- Valid Class C (or equivalent) Driver's License with a clean driving record
- Proven experience in a delivery or commercial driving role
- Strong knowledge of local traffic laws and routes in the Kuna area
- Ability to lift, push, and pull heavy items (up to 50 lbs) regularly
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
Preferred Qualifications
- 1+ year of professional delivery driving experience
- Experience with route optimization software or GPS systems
- Familiarity with various types of delivery vehicles
- Basic mechanical knowledge for minor vehicle troubleshooting
