We are actively seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Cafeteria Kitchen Prep Aide to join our dedicated Food Services team in Corktown, Hamilton. Key Responsibilities
- Assist chefs and cooks with preliminary food preparation tasks, including washing, peeling, cutting, and portioning vegetables, fruits, and other ingredients.
- Ensure all kitchen equipment, workstations, and utensils are consistently cleaned and sanitized according to established health and safety protocols, including HACCP guidelines.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with stocking and rotating food supplies, ensuring proper storage and minimizing waste.
- Operate and clean basic kitchen appliances such as dishwashers, mixers, and slicers safely and efficiently.
- Aid in the setup and breakdown of serving lines, ensuring a smooth and efficient flow during meal service times.
- Adhere strictly to all food safety regulations, cross-contamination prevention techniques, and personal hygiene standards.
- Assist with receiving and inspecting food deliveries, verifying orders, and reporting discrepancies.
- Perform general cleaning duties throughout the cafeteria kitchen, including sweeping, mopping floors, and emptying waste bins.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and other departments to ensure seamless food service operations and a positive dining experience.
Required Skills
- Basic knowledge of food preparation methods and kitchen safety practices.
