Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and target prospective commercial clients through market research, networking events, referrals, and direct outreach within the Sunrise and broader Broward County area.
  • Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of new business opportunities in line with bank objectives and growth strategies.
  • Conduct thorough needs assessments for potential clients to understand their financial requirements and recommend appropriate Amerant Bank solutions.
  • Present and articulate the value proposition of Amerant Bank's diverse products and services, including commercial loans (C&I, CRE), treasury management, and deposit accounts.
  • Negotiate terms, structure deals, and close new business, ensuring all transactions adhere to bank policies and regulatory guidelines while maintaining high client satisfaction.
  • Collaborate closely with internal partners, including credit analysts, relationship managers, and product specialists, to deliver comprehensive and integrated client solutions.
  • Represent Amerant Bank at local business events, chamber of commerce meetings, community functions, and industry conferences to enhance brand visibility and generate qualified leads.
  • Prepare regular sales reports, forecasts, and analyses to track progress against individual and team targets.
  • Stay current with market trends, competitor activities, and changes in banking regulations to effectively position Amerant Bank's offerings.
  • Provide exceptional client service during the onboarding process and foster long-term relationships to ensure client retention and expand existing accounts.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in business development, sales, or relationship management within the financial services industry, preferably in commercial banking.
  • Proven track record of consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets and driving revenue growth.
  • Strong understanding of commercial banking products and services (e.g., C&I loans, CRE loans, treasury management, deposit accounts, cash management).
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex financial concepts clearly.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships with diverse business owners and executives.
  • Highly self-motivated, results-oriented, and able to work independently in a field-based, target-driven role.
  • Proficiency in CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for frequent local travel within the territory.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, or a closely related field.
  • Existing network of established business contacts and referral sources within the Sunrise/Broward County market.
  • Experience working specifically with small to medium-sized businesses (SMBs) and mid-market companies.
  • Bilingual proficiency (English/Spanish) is a plus, given our diverse client base in South Florida.
  • Formal sales training and certifications.
