As a Business Analyst – Strategy Support, you will play a central role in enhancing our competitive edge and ensuring the terminal’s continued operational excellence and long-term sustainability. You will be tasked with conducting thorough analyses of our current business models, identifying inefficiencies, and proposing innovative solutions to drive performance. This includes detailed analysis of cargo flow, vessel turnaround times, resource allocation, and market demand forecasts. The successful candidate will work closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams, including Operations, Finance, and Commercial departments, providing robust analytical support for critical decision-making processes. You will develop comprehensive reports, build sophisticated analytical models, and present findings in a clear, concise, and compelling manner to various stakeholders. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-depth business analysis, including data collection, statistical analysis, and financial modeling, to support strategic initiatives.
  • Identify and evaluate operational inefficiencies, market trends, and competitive landscapes to pinpoint areas for improvement and growth within port operations.
  • Develop and present comprehensive reports, dashboards, and presentations to senior management, translating complex data into clear, actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with various departments (Operations, Finance, Commercial, IT) to gather requirements, streamline processes, and ensure strategic alignment.
  • Support the planning, development, and implementation of strategic projects, monitoring progress and evaluating outcomes against defined objectives.
  • Perform root cause analysis for performance variances and propose corrective actions or new strategies.
  • Assist in the development of business cases for new investments, technologies, or operational changes.
  • Stay abreast of industry best practices, technological advancements, and regulatory changes relevant to port and logistics operations.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst or in a similar strategic analytical role.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data sets and draw meaningful conclusions.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Microsoft Excel at an advanced level, SQL, Power BI, Tableau).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Solid understanding of strategic planning frameworks and business process improvement methodologies.
  • Fluency in English and French (both written and spoken) is essential for communication with international and local stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Prior experience in the logistics, shipping, maritime, or port operations industry.
  • Certification in Business Analysis (e.g., CBAP) or Project Management (e.g., PMP, Prince2).
  • Familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and Business Intelligence (BI) platforms.
  • Knowledge of local Congolese market dynamics and economic landscape.
