Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and skilled Building Maintenance professional to join our dynamic team in Regina, Saskatchewan. Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections of building systems, common areas, and exterior grounds to identify and address maintenance needs.
- Execute minor repairs and preventative maintenance tasks on plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and general building structures.
- Respond promptly and efficiently to maintenance requests from tenants and property management, ensuring timely resolution.
- Conduct painting, patching, and general upkeep to ensure aesthetic standards are met across properties.
- Assist in the coordination and oversight of external contractors for specialized repairs or large-scale projects.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inventory of supplies.
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Participate in emergency response efforts, including on-call duties, as required.
- Operate and maintain various hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Provide excellent customer service and maintain a professional demeanor when interacting with tenants and staff.
Required Skills
- Minimum 2 years of experience in building maintenance or a related trade.
- Proficiency in basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general repair tasks.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor, lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs), and work in various weather conditions.
- Valid Class 5 Saskatchewan Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- Knowledge of safety procedures and occupational health and safety regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant trade certification (e.g., journeyman status in a specific trade, building operator certificate).
- Experience with HVAC systems and basic mechanical repairs.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Experience working in a commercial or multi-residential property management setting.
- Ability to operate light machinery (e.g., snow blower, lawnmower).
