Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate BRT buses on assigned routes according to scheduled timetables and traffic regulations.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure mechanical soundness, cleanliness, and compliance with safety standards.
- Ensure the safety of all passengers, including assisting with safe boarding and alighting procedures, especially for individuals with special needs.
- Accurately collect fares, issue tickets, and manage passenger manifests as required, adhering strictly to company policies and financial protocols.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with passengers, providing necessary route information, responding to inquiries, and addressing concerns courteously.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, company regulations, and comprehensive safety protocols at all times to prevent accidents and ensure a secure environment.
- Report any mechanical issues, accidents, incidents, or passenger complaints promptly and accurately to the appropriate supervisory personnel.
- Maintain a clean and orderly vehicle interior throughout the shift.
Required Skills
- Valid Class E or F Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Clean driving record with no major infractions or accidents
- Basic mechanical knowledge for routine vehicle checks and troubleshooting
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong professional work ethic
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays
- Strong understanding of road safety regulations
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in commercial driving, passenger transport, or public service roles
- Customer service training or demonstrated experience in customer interaction
- Familiarity with Lagos road networks and traffic regulations
- Basic First Aid and CPR certification
- Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and professionally
