Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain environmental management systems and programs in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Conduct regular environmental inspections, audits, and site assessments to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Prepare and submit comprehensive environmental reports, permits, and documentation to regulatory agencies.

  • Monitor key environmental performance indicators and contribute to BP's sustainability reporting.
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies, community stakeholders, and internal teams on environmental matters.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in an environmental compliance or specialist role, preferably in the oil & gas or heavy industry sector.
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant federal, state, and local environmental regulations (e.g., EPA, CT DEEP).
  • Proven ability to manage environmental programs and conduct site audits.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in environmental data management and reporting software.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Environmental Science or Engineering.
  • Professional certifications such as CHMM (Certified Hazardous Materials Manager) or P.E. (Professional Engineer).
