Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Chemical Engineer to join our dynamic team in Edgewood, Bristol. This pivotal role involves optimizing and troubleshooting complex chemical processes to ensure maximum efficiency, safety, and environmental compliance. You will be instrumental in the design, development, and implementation of new processes and equipment, as well as enhancing existing ones. Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and optimize chemical processes to improve efficiency, yield, and product quality.
  • Monitor and analyze process performance data, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
  • Ensure strict adherence to all safety, health, and environmental regulations and company standards.
  • Conduct process hazard analyses (PHAs) and participate in risk assessments to mitigate operational risks.
  • Troubleshoot complex process issues, developing and executing solutions to maintain operational continuity.
  • Collaborate with R&D, operations, and maintenance teams on capital projects, plant expansions, and modifications.
  • Prepare technical reports, process documentation, and operational procedures.
  • Evaluate new technologies and methodologies to enhance process capabilities and sustainability.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in chemical process engineering within an industrial setting.
  • Proficiency in process simulation software (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, PRO/II).
  • Strong understanding of P&IDs, PFDs, and process control systems.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of industrial safety standards and environmental regulations.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and communicate complex technical information clearly.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree or Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering.
  • Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or equivalent professional accreditation.
  • Experience in the oil & gas, petrochemicals, or refining industry.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Project management experience.
