Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain accurate financial records for a portfolio of clients using QuickBooks.
- Process accounts payable and receivable, including invoicing, payments, and reconciliations.
- Conduct bank reconciliations and credit card reconciliations on a regular basis.
- Prepare and submit VAT returns in compliance with HMRC regulations.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close procedures, including preparing trial balances.
- Generate financial reports such as profit and loss statements and balance sheets for management review.
- Communicate effectively with clients to resolve discrepancies and gather necessary financial information.
- Ensure all bookkeeping activities adhere to relevant accounting standards and company policies.
- Support senior accountants with various financial tasks as required.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar financial role.
- Expert-level proficiency with QuickBooks software (desktop and online versions).
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and bookkeeping best practices.
- Demonstrable experience with VAT returns and HMRC compliance.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple client accounts effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- AAT qualification or equivalent (e.g., ICB, IAB).
- Experience working within an accounting practice or managing multiple client accounts.
- Familiarity with other accounting software platforms.
