Job Description

We are actively seeking a highly organized, meticulous, and experienced Bookkeeper to join our dynamic and growing accounting support team in our Pensacola, Florida office. The Bookkeeper – Accounting Support role is absolutely integral to our ability to provide exceptional and timely service to our diverse client base. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain accurate financial records for multiple clients utilizing various accounting software applications.
  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring all transactions are processed in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Perform comprehensive bank and credit card reconciliations on a regular basis to ensure data integrity and identify discrepancies.
  • Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring strict adherence to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Assist in the accurate preparation of fundamental financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Process payroll and handle related tax filings, ensuring full compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Handle sales tax filings and other compliance-related tasks as required by client needs and regulatory bodies.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with clients to gather necessary financial information and address accounting inquiries.
  • Maintain organized digital and physical filing systems for all critical financial documents, ensuring easy accessibility and security.
  • Support the broader accounting team with ad-hoc projects, data entry, and administrative tasks as needed to ensure smooth operations.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar accounting support role (minimum of 3 years of progressive experience).
  • Demonstrable proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including experience with pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and complex formulas.
  • Excellent understanding of basic accounting and bookkeeping procedures, including debits, credits, and the accounting cycle.
  • High degree of accuracy, exceptional attention to detail, and a commitment to producing error-free work.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple client assignments concurrently, and prioritize tasks effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills and efficient time management capabilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of professional client interaction.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related business field.
  • Previous experience working specifically in a public accounting firm environment, managing multiple client accounts.
  • Certification in QuickBooks (e.g., QuickBooks ProAdvisor) or other relevant accounting software certifications.
  • Familiarity with other accounting software platforms such as Xero, Sage, or NetSuite.
  • Experience with popular payroll processing systems like ADP or Paychex.
