Job Description

We are actively seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Maintenance Technician to join our dynamic team in Telford, England. This critical role involves performing comprehensive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair on a variety of mechanical and electrical systems and equipment crucial to our operational success. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine preventative maintenance on mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems and equipment.
  • Diagnose faults, troubleshoot complex issues, and carry out effective repairs to minimise downtime.
  • Execute corrective maintenance tasks, including replacing defective parts, adjusting machinery, and calibrating systems.
  • Adhere strictly to all safety protocols, company policies, and relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed maintenance records, including work performed, parts used, and hours logged.
  • Collaborate with production teams and other technicians to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions.
  • Participate in the installation, commissioning, and decommissioning of new equipment.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing efficiency and reliability.
  • Order and manage spare parts inventory, ensuring critical components are readily available.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to junior technicians or operational staff when required.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and fault-finding skills.
  • Proficiency in electrical systems, including control circuits and motor controls.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and maintenance manuals.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Solid understanding of health and safety regulations.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency with standard maintenance tools and equipment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics).
  • Experience with PLC diagnostics and programming.
  • Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
  • Forklift license or other relevant equipment operation certifications.
  • Experience in an aerospace or precision manufacturing environment.
  • Prior experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
