Job Description
Bombardier is actively seeking a highly organized, meticulous, and proactive Logistics Clerk to immediately join our dedicated team in Windsor Locks, CT. This full-time, on-site position is absolutely critical to the seamless operation of our sophisticated supply chain, playing an indispensable role in ensuring the efficient movement and accurate tracking of all materials, components, and finished aircraft parts. As a Logistics Clerk, you will be the linchpin in coordinating inbound and outbound logistics, guaranteeing that every item is received, inspected, stored, and dispatched with precision and in a timely manner. Key Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, and accurately record incoming materials, components, and supplies, ensuring strict adherence to purchase orders and quality standards.
- Prepare, pack, and process outbound shipments, including generating shipping labels, customs documentation, and coordinating with various freight carriers.
- Maintain precise and up-to-date inventory records through regular cycle counts, physical inventories, and efficient system reconciliation.
- Coordinate proactively with suppliers, internal departments (e.g., production, engineering), and external partners to resolve any logistical discrepancies or delays.
- Safely and efficiently operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks, forklifts, and other necessary machinery (certification preferred).
- Assist in the strategic organization and optimization of warehouse and storage spaces for maximum efficiency, accessibility, and safety.
- Generate comprehensive reports on inventory levels, shipment statuses, logistics performance metrics, and compliance data.
- Strictly adhere to all company safety regulations, operational policies, and industry best practices.
- Provide administrative support to the logistics and supply chain management team as required, including data entry and documentation.
- Identify and recommend improvements to existing logistics processes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 1 year of proven experience in logistics, warehousing, inventory management, or supply chain administration.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel for data analysis, Word for documentation, Outlook for communication).
- Exceptional organizational skills and an unwavering attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities for effective internal and external interactions.
- Physical ability to lift and move packages up to 50 lbs unassisted and perform tasks requiring standing, walking, and bending for extended periods.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively and collaboratively within a dynamic team-oriented environment.
- Proven capability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's degree or higher in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Valid forklift certification and previous experience operating similar material handling equipment.
- Working knowledge of SAP or other major ERP systems commonly used in manufacturing.
- Previous experience within the aviation or aerospace industry's logistics processes.
- Experience in an immediate-start or fast-paced onboarding role.
