Job Description
As a Safety Officer at Boeing in Homer, Alaska, you will play a critical role in upholding Boeing’s unwavering commitment to safety excellence. This position is vital for ensuring a secure and compliant work environment, specifically tailored to our operational needs within the Homer region. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing comprehensive safety programs that align with federal, state, and company regulations. Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety programs and procedures in alignment with regulatory requirements and company policies.
- Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance.
- Investigate all workplace incidents, accidents, and near-misses to determine root causes and recommend corrective and preventative actions.
- Provide engaging safety training and education to all employees, fostering a strong safety-conscious culture.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local safety regulations, including OSHA standards.
- Collaborate with management and employees to promote safety awareness and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Prepare detailed safety reports, analyses, and documentation.
- Respond to safety concerns and provide expert advice and solutions.
- Manage emergency preparedness and response plans.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Safety Officer or similar role in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
- In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations and other relevant safety standards.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for incident investigation and risk assessment.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to develop and deliver effective safety training programs.
- Proficiency in safety management systems and incident reporting software.
