Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, including profit and loss accounts, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Manage general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and reconciliation of all transactions.
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely processing and dispute resolution.
- Assist with the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, providing variance analysis and commentary.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards (e.g., IFRS/UK GAAP) and regulatory requirements.
- Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Prepare and submit tax returns and other statutory filings, liaising with tax advisors as needed.
- Reconcile bank statements and other financial data, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and control.
- Provide financial insights and reports to management, aiding in strategic planning and operational decisions.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as an Accountant or in a similar financial role.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and MS Excel (advanced level).
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent professional accounting qualification.
