Key Responsibilities

  • Warmly greet guests upon arrival and departure, offering immediate and enthusiastic assistance.
  • Efficiently and carefully handle guest luggage, packages, and belongings, ensuring prompt delivery to and from rooms or vehicles.
  • Escort guests to their accommodations, providing a comprehensive and engaging orientation to the room features, hotel facilities, and local area highlights, including nearby attractions like the Blue Lagoon.
  • Assist with arranging ground transportation (taxis, shuttles, private cars) and provide accurate information regarding hotel services, amenities, and local points of interest.
  • Respond to guest inquiries and resolve minor issues with professionalism and efficiency, escalating complex matters to the appropriate department or management.
  • Maintain a pristine and organized lobby, entrance, and luggage storage areas, ensuring a welcoming first impression.
  • Collaborate effectively with the front desk, housekeeping, and other operational departments to ensure seamless guest experiences.
  • Adhere strictly to all hotel safety and security procedures, including the proper handling and safeguarding of guest property.
  • Perform various other guest service duties and errands as assigned, always with a helpful and courteous attitude.

Required Skills

  • Exceptional customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong verbal communication in English, with a clear, friendly, and articulate demeanor.
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy luggage (up to 50 lbs/23 kg) comfortably and stand/walk for extended periods.
  • A professional and immaculate appearance, with a positive and welcoming attitude.
  • Proactive, attentive, and enthusiastic approach to anticipating and meeting guest needs.
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced, luxury hospitality environment.
  • Punctuality, reliability, and strong attention to detail.
  • Basic knowledge of hotel operations and guest service protocols.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a hospitality or customer service role, preferably within a hotel or resort setting.
  • Familiarity with the Port Antonio area, including local attractions, restaurants, and transportation options.
  • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Proficiency in a second language (e.g., French, Spanish).
  • Experience catering to high-end or luxury clientele.
