Job Description
Couples Swept Away is seeking an enthusiastic and service-oriented Bellhop to join our dynamic front-of-house team. As a Bellhop, you will be the first and last point of contact for our discerning guests, playing a crucial role in shaping their arrival and departure experience. Your primary responsibilities will include handling luggage with care, escorting guests to their accommodations, familiarizing them with resort amenities, and responding promptly to various guest requests. Key Responsibilities
- Warmly greet arriving guests, assist with luggage handling, and safely transport belongings to and from rooms or designated storage areas.
- Escort guests to their assigned rooms, providing a brief orientation to the room features and resort amenities.
- Respond promptly and courteously to guest requests, including delivery of amenities, messages, or information.
- Assist guests with transportation needs, including calling taxis or shuttles, and providing directions.
- Maintain a clean and organized lobby, entrance, and luggage storage areas.
- Provide accurate and helpful information about the resort, local attractions, dining options, and transportation services.
- Collaborate effectively with other hotel departments (Front Desk, Housekeeping, Concierge) to ensure seamless guest service.
- Safely operate golf carts or other designated vehicles for guest and luggage transport when required.
- Adhere strictly to all resort safety and security procedures and guidelines.
- Anticipate guest needs and offer proactive assistance to enhance their overall experience.
- Handle guest concerns or complaints with professionalism and escalate to management when necessary.
Required Skills
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong customer service orientation with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy luggage (up to 50 lbs) and stand/walk for extended periods.
- Punctual and reliable with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
- Basic knowledge of the local area and resort amenities.
- Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum 6 months of experience in a similar guest service or hospitality role.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Jamaican driver's license with a clean driving record (for operating resort vehicles).
- Proficiency in an additional language (e.g., Spanish, French, German) is a plus.
- Prior experience in a luxury resort or hotel environment.
