As a Barista at The George Hotel, you will be an integral part of our guests’ daily routine, from their morning espresso to their afternoon tea. Your expertise will be crucial in preparing a wide range of hot and cold beverages, including expertly crafted espressos, rich cappuccinos, silky lattes, an assortment of fine teas, and unique specialty drinks. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, and specialty drinks, according to established recipes and quality standards.
- Operate and maintain espresso machines, grinders, blenders, and other coffee-making equipment.
- Provide exceptional customer service, greeting guests warmly, taking orders accurately, and handling payments efficiently.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting café environment, including regular cleaning of equipment, countertops, and seating areas.
- Monitor inventory levels of coffee beans, milk, syrups, and other supplies, and communicate replenishment needs to management.
- Adhere to all food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Handle guest inquiries and resolve issues professionally and promptly.
- Contribute to a positive team atmosphere and assist colleagues as needed.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Barista, preferably in a hotel or high-volume café setting.
- Extensive knowledge of coffee types, brewing methods, and espresso preparation.
- Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and active listening skills.
- Proficiency in cash handling and point-of-sale (POS) systems.
- Passion for coffee and a commitment to delivering high-quality beverages.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification in food hygiene or safety.
- Previous experience in a luxury hotel or fine dining establishment.
