Key Responsibilities
- Craft and serve a wide range of coffee beverages, adhering to Gail's quality standards and recipes.
- Operate and maintain espresso machines, grinders, and other coffee equipment with precision.
- Provide exceptional customer service, taking orders accurately and engaging with customers in a friendly and efficient manner.
- Handle cash and card transactions accurately and efficiently using our POS system.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the coffee bar area, including equipment, counters, and seating areas.
- Assist with stock rotation, inventory management, and ordering of coffee beans and supplies.
- Adhere to all food safety and health and safety regulations.
- Support the wider bakery team as needed, contributing to a harmonious and productive work environment.
- Actively upsell products and promote daily specials to enhance customer experience.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Barista, ideally 6 months or more in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent knowledge of coffee preparation techniques, latte art, and various coffee types.
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- A keen eye for detail and commitment to product quality.
- Reliable, punctual, and a strong team player.
- Basic numeracy and literacy for handling transactions and understanding recipes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Food Hygiene Certificate (Level 2).
- Experience working in a bakery or similar food service establishment.
- Proficiency in using a Point of Sale (POS) system.
- A genuine passion for food, coffee, and community.
