Key Responsibilities

  • Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently, including deposits, withdrawals, transfers, loan payments, and check cashing.
  • Maintain an accurate cash drawer, balance daily transactions, and adhere to all cash handling procedures and security protocols.
  • Identify customer needs and effectively cross-sell or refer appropriate banking products and services (e.g., savings accounts, loans, credit cards) to specialists.
  • Build and nurture positive customer relationships by providing friendly, professional, and personalized service.
  • Address customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly and courteously, escalating complex matters to management when necessary.
  • Adhere to all bank policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements (e.g., BSA, AML, KYC).
  • Assist customers with account maintenance, debit card issues, online banking support, and other general banking requests.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of all bank products, services, and digital offerings.
  • Contribute to a positive team environment by collaborating with colleagues and supporting branch goals.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development to enhance skills and stay updated on industry best practices.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 6-12 months of experience in a customer service or cash handling role.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Proven ability to handle cash accurately and balance a cash drawer.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with basic computer applications and banking software.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a bank teller or in a financial institution.
  • Knowledge of banking products, services, and regulations.
  • Associate's degree or some college coursework in business or finance.
