Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain compliance policies, procedures, and internal controls in line with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments to identify potential compliance gaps and vulnerabilities, recommending and monitoring remediation efforts.
  • Provide expert compliance advice and guidance to business units on new products, services, and operational changes to ensure regulatory adherence.
  • Monitor regulatory developments and analyze their potential impact on Barclays' operations, translating complex regulations into actionable business requirements.
  • Assist in the preparation and submission of regulatory reports, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely filing.
  • Design and deliver effective compliance training programs to employees, fostering a strong culture of compliance awareness.
  • Investigate and resolve compliance-related issues, breaches, or customer complaints, escalating significant matters to senior management as required.
  • Collaborate with internal audit, legal, and risk management teams to ensure a cohesive approach to governance and oversight.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Law, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in a compliance, risk, or regulatory role within the financial services industry.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. financial regulations (e.g., BSA/AML, OFAC, Dodd-Frank, FINRA rules, consumer protection laws).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex information clearly.
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
  • High level of integrity, ethical conduct, and discretion.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant professional certifications (e.g., CAMS, CRCM, CFE).
  • Master's degree or Juris Doctor (JD).
  • Experience with compliance technology and regulatory reporting systems.
  • Previous experience working for a global financial institution.
