Job Description
Zenith Bank Plc is seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Bank Teller – Cashier in our Nsukara Nsit, Uyo branch. In this vital role, you will be the first point of contact for many of our valued customers, providing exceptional service and handling various financial transactions with accuracy and efficiency. This position requires meticulous attention to detail, strong communication skills, and a commitment to upholding the highest standards of integrity and professionalism. You will be responsible for processing deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, and other banking transactions, while also identifying opportunities to cross-sell bank products and services that meet our customers’ financial needs. Key Responsibilities
- Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently, including deposits, withdrawals, cheque cashing, loan payments, and other financial requests.
- Verify customer identities and transaction details to prevent fraud and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Maintain an accurate cash drawer, balancing it at the end of each shift and reporting any discrepancies promptly.
- Provide excellent customer service, addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and building strong customer relationships.
- Identify customer needs and cross-sell appropriate bank products and services, referring complex needs to relevant departments.
- Adhere strictly to all bank policies, procedures, and security protocols.
- Educate customers on various banking services, digital platforms, and self-service options.
- Process foreign currency exchange and other international transactions as required.
- Assist with opening and closing procedures of the branch, ensuring all security measures are in place.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in cash handling or a customer service role.
- Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Banking, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related fields.
- Previous experience as a bank teller or cashier in a financial institution.
- Familiarity with banking software and operating systems.
- Knowledge of anti-money laundering (AML) and 'Know Your Customer' (KYC) regulations.
