Breadish Bakery is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Baker – Pastry Assistant to join our vibrant morning shift team in Mile 2, Lagos. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is eager to learn, contribute, and grow within a fast-paced and rewarding bakery environment. As a Pastry Assistant, you will play a crucial role in the daily production of our high-quality breads and pastries, ensuring everything is prepared to perfection for our morning rush. You’ll be working alongside experienced bakers and pastry chefs, assisting in all stages from ingredient preparation and accurate measurement to mixing, kneading, proofing, baking, finishing, and packaging. This includes preparing various doughs and batters, shaping pastries with precision, operating commercial ovens and mixers, and ensuring all products meet our stringent quality standards before being presented to our discerning customers. This role requires commitment to early mornings, strong organizational skills, and a genuine love for creating delicious baked goods from scratch. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist Head Bakers and Pastry Chefs in all aspects of daily production, including measuring and mixing ingredients.
  • Prepare various types of dough, batters, fillings, and glazes according to established recipes and quality standards.
  • Shape, proof, bake, and decorate a wide range of breads, pastries, cakes, and other baked goods.
  • Operate and maintain bakery equipment such as mixers, ovens, proofers, and fryers safely and efficiently.
  • Monitor product quality during production to ensure consistency and adherence to company standards.
  • Package finished products attractively and efficiently for display and sale.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation, equipment, and overall bakery area.
  • Adhere strictly to all food safety, hygiene, and sanitation regulations.
  • Manage inventory of ingredients and report stock levels to ensure timely replenishment.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure smooth and timely completion of tasks for the morning shift.

Required Skills

  • Basic knowledge of baking principles and pastry techniques.
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently during early morning shifts.
  • Strong attention to detail and precision in following recipes.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
