Key Responsibilities
- Prepare a wide variety of baked goods, including breads, pastries, cakes, cookies, and other desserts, according to recipes and production schedules.
- Accurately measure and mix ingredients, knead, proof, and shape doughs, and prepare batters.
- Operate and maintain commercial baking equipment, including mixers, ovens, proofers, and fryers.
- Monitor baking processes, adjust temperatures and timings as needed, and ensure consistent product quality.
- Decorate and finish baked goods with glazes, icings, and other toppings.
- Adhere strictly to food safety and sanitation guidelines, maintaining a clean and organized work station.
- Manage inventory of ingredients, report stock levels, and assist with ordering supplies.
- Collaborate effectively with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient workflow and timely delivery of products.
- Assist in the development of new recipes and baking techniques to enhance product offerings.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures regarding production and safety.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a baker specializing in both bread and pastry.
- In-depth knowledge of baking principles, techniques, and ingredient functions.
- Proficiency in operating commercial baking equipment.
- Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation regulations (HACCP certification preferred).
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow recipes precisely.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage time effectively.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift heavy ingredients/equipment.
