Job Description
Are you a seasoned automotive professional with a passion for customer service and a solid understanding of vehicle mechanics? Coscharis Motors Plc is seeking a highly motivated and technically proficient Automobile Service Advisor to join our dynamic team in Port Harcourt. As the primary point of contact for our valued customers seeking vehicle maintenance and repair services, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring an outstanding service experience from start to finish.
This role requires a unique blend of exceptional interpersonal skills, strong organizational abilities, and a comprehensive technical understanding of automobiles. You will be responsible for greeting customers, actively listening to their concerns, performing initial diagnostic assessments, preparing accurate service estimates, and effectively communicating repair procedures and costs. Your ability to translate complex technical jargon into understandable terms for our customers is paramount. You will act as the crucial link between our customers and our workshop technicians, ensuring seamless information flow and precise service delivery. Your day-to-day will involve managing service appointments, coordinating with the parts department, ensuring timely completion of work, and following up with customers post-service. Key Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly, listen attentively to their service needs, and accurately document vehicle concerns.
- Conduct initial inspections and technical assessments to identify potential issues and recommend appropriate services.
- Prepare comprehensive and transparent service estimates, explaining repair costs and timelines to customers.
- Act as a liaison between customers and service technicians, ensuring clear communication of service requirements and progress.
- Schedule service appointments, manage workshop workflow, and coordinate parts availability with the parts department.
- Follow up with customers regarding vehicle status, additional service recommendations, and post-service satisfaction.
- Process service orders, invoices, and payments accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain detailed service records and customer histories using our CRM system.
- Handle customer inquiries and complaints professionally, striving for swift and satisfactory resolutions.
- Ensure all work is completed to the highest standards of quality and in compliance with company and manufacturer guidelines.
- Promote additional services, maintenance plans, and accessories to enhance customer value.
- Stay updated on new vehicle technologies, service procedures, and manufacturer recalls.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as an Automobile Service Advisor or in a similar customer-facing automotive role.
- Strong technical knowledge of automotive systems, diagnostics, and repair procedures.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex information clearly.
- Proven track record in customer service and customer relationship management.
- Proficiency in using automotive diagnostic tools and service management software.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and a customer-centric attitude.
Preferred Qualifications
- Higher National Diploma (HND) or Bachelor's degree in Automotive Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Certification from recognized automotive bodies (e.g., ASE, NABTEB, C & G).
- Experience with specific automotive brands represented by Coscharis Motors Plc.
- Proficiency with dealership management systems (DMS) like Kerridge, CDK Global, or similar.
- Sales and upselling experience within an automotive service setting.
