As a pivotal member of our sales team, you will be the first point of contact for our valued customers, providing expert guidance and ensuring a seamless purchasing experience. Beyond direct sales, this role encompasses essential retail operations. You will be responsible for processing transactions accurately, handling cash and electronic payments, and contributing to the overall organization and presentation of our showroom. Effective inventory management, including receiving new stock, organizing shelves, and assisting with stock counts, will also be a key aspect of your contribution. Key Responsibilities
- Greet and welcome customers to the store, providing exceptional customer service at all times.
- Actively listen to customers to understand their auto spare part needs and requirements.
- Utilize product knowledge and internal systems (catalogs, databases) to identify and locate correct parts.
- Provide expert advice and recommendations on suitable parts, accessories, and alternatives.
- Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently using POS systems, handling cash, credit cards, and other payment methods.
- Assist in the receiving, unpacking, stocking, and organizing of new inventory.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing sales floor and parts storage area.
- Address customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints professionally and effectively, escalating issues when necessary.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve daily, weekly, and monthly sales targets.
- Continuously update product knowledge to stay informed about new vehicle models, parts, and industry trends.
- Assist with periodic stock counts and inventory reconciliation.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and safety procedures.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 1 year of proven experience in retail sales, preferably in auto parts or a related automotive field.
- Strong understanding of basic vehicle components and their functions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with customers.
- Demonstrated customer service orientation and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in using Point-of-Sale (POS) systems and basic computer applications.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented and fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Physical ability to lift and move automotive parts (up to 25kg) and stand for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications
- OND/HND or equivalent qualification in Auto Mechanics, Sales, or a related discipline.
- Previous experience working specifically in an auto parts store.
- Familiarity with various car brands, models, and their corresponding spare parts.
- Ability to speak local languages in addition to fluent English.
- Valid driver's license.
