Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently deliver automotive parts and products to local commercial and retail customers within the Detroit metropolitan area.
- Operate company delivery vehicles in a safe and courteous manner, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.
- Verify the accuracy of delivered products against invoices and obtain customer signatures.
- Assist with loading and unloading delivery vehicles, ensuring products are secured properly to prevent damage.
- Provide exceptional customer service during deliveries, addressing any customer inquiries or concerns professionally.
- Maintain a clean and organized delivery vehicle, performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
- Collaborate with store staff to coordinate delivery schedules and ensure timely dispatch.
- Handle cash or credit card transactions for COD (Cash on Delivery) orders accurately.
- Report any vehicle maintenance issues, accidents, or incidents promptly to management.
- Adhere to all company safety guidelines and procedures at all times.
Required Skills
- Valid state driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift and move merchandise weighing up to 70 pounds, without assistance.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple deliveries.
- Familiarity with the Detroit area road network and ability to use GPS/navigation tools.
- Must be at least 21 years old (for insurance purposes).
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a delivery driver role, preferably within the automotive or retail industry.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Basic knowledge of automotive parts and components.
- Ability to operate a manual transmission vehicle.
