Job Description
Are you a highly skilled Audio Technician with a deep passion for music production? Stanton Audio Visual is seeking a talented and dedicated individual to join our growing team in Milton Keynes. Key Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and dismantle professional audio equipment for various projects, including live events, installations, and studio sessions.
- Perform comprehensive sound checks and system calibrations to ensure optimal audio quality and performance.
- Operate digital and analog mixing consoles, ensuring balanced and dynamic audio levels for diverse applications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with audio equipment and systems efficiently under pressure.
- Conduct preventative maintenance and minor repairs on audio gear, maintaining accurate inventory records.
- Collaborate with clients, project managers, and creative teams to understand audio requirements and deliver solutions that meet their artistic and technical needs.
- Assist with basic recording, editing, and mixing tasks within a music production workflow using industry-standard DAWs.
- Provide technical support and guidance to clients and other team members on audio best practices and equipment usage.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies during equipment handling and on-site operations.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in audio technology and music production techniques.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in setting up and operating professional audio equipment (mixers, microphones, PAs, etc.).
- Strong understanding of audio signal flow, acoustics, and sound reinforcement principles.
- Experience with Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs) such as Pro Tools, Logic Pro, Ableton Live, or similar.
- Demonstrable troubleshooting skills for complex audio systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working effectively with clients and team members.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in dynamic and often time-sensitive environments.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality audio experiences.
- Physical ability to lift and move audio equipment as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- A degree or diploma in Audio Engineering, Music Production, Sound Technology, or a related field.
- Relevant industry certifications (e.g., Dante Level 2/3, AVIXA CTS, Yamaha CL/QL Series operation).
- Proven experience in live sound engineering, studio recording, or post-production.
- Full UK driving license with no more than 6 points.
- A portfolio or demonstrable examples of music production or audio projects you have worked on.
- Experience with video conferencing and unified communications platforms (e.g., Teams, Zoom).
