Job Description
AstraZeneca is seeking an innovative and highly motivated Research Scientist to join our dynamic research and development team in Palm Bay West, Palm Bay. Key Responsibilities
- Design, plan, and execute complex in vitro and/or in vivo experiments to test scientific hypotheses and advance project goals.
- Analyze and interpret experimental data, troubleshoot technical issues, and draw scientifically sound conclusions.
- Maintain meticulous laboratory records, protocols, and documentation in accordance with GxP standards.
- Present research findings effectively at internal team meetings, departmental seminars, and potentially external scientific conferences.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with other research scientists, discovery teams, and external partners.
- Contribute to the preparation of scientific manuscripts, patent applications, and technical reports.
- Stay current with scientific literature and new technologies relevant to the field of research.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and ethical guidelines in the laboratory.
Required Skills
- Ph.D. in Biological Sciences, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, Immunology, Molecular Biology, or a related field; or an M.S. with extensive relevant experience.
- Proven hands-on experience with a variety of molecular and cellular biology techniques (e.g., qPCR, Western Blot, ELISA, flow cytometry, cell culture).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex biological data.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate scientific concepts clearly.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Proficiency in data analysis software (e.g., GraphPad Prism, Excel, R).
Preferred Qualifications
- Post-doctoral experience in an academic or industrial setting.
- Experience in a specific therapeutic area such as oncology, immunology, cardiovascular, or neuroscience research.
- Familiarity with drug discovery processes and preclinical development.
- Experience with bioinformatics tools and analysis of large datasets.
- Demonstrated track record of scientific publications or presentations at major conferences.
