Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine laboratory tasks including preparation of reagents, media, and buffers according to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Assist scientists with experimental setup, sample processing, and data collection.
- Maintain laboratory equipment through cleaning, calibration, and routine preventative maintenance.
- Manage laboratory inventory, including ordering supplies, receiving shipments, and organizing storage.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, good laboratory practices (GLP), and internal quality standards.
- Prepare and sterilize glassware and other laboratory tools.
- Accurately record and document all procedures, results, and observations.
- Dispose of chemical and biological waste in accordance with safety guidelines.
- Support general lab organization and cleanliness to maintain a productive and safe working environment.
- Assist in troubleshooting minor equipment issues and escalating more complex problems to senior staff.
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working in a laboratory setting (academic or industrial).
- Basic understanding of laboratory safety procedures and GLP.
- Proficiency in basic laboratory techniques (e.g., pipetting, solution preparation).
- Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions precisely.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Biotechnology).
- Experience with aseptic techniques.
- Familiarity with laboratory information management systems (LIMS).
- Prior experience in a pharmaceutical or biotechnology environment.
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
