Key Responsibilities
- Receive, meticulously inspect, and accurately record all incoming materials and equipment, diligently verifying them against corresponding purchase orders and delivery notes.
- Assist proactively in organizing and maintaining the warehouse, ensuring all items are stored safely, systematically, and are readily accessible when needed.
- Issue materials and equipment to authorized personnel promptly upon legitimate requisition, meticulously maintaining precise records of all outgoing items.
- Conduct thorough and regular physical inventory counts, reconciling them with system records, and promptly identifying and reporting any discrepancies.
- Assist in maintaining an impeccably clean, organized, and secure warehouse environment, strictly adhering to all health and safety standards and company policies.
- Monitor stock levels diligently and report low stock to the Store Manager to facilitate timely reordering and prevent project delays.
- Operate basic warehouse equipment (e.g., trolleys, pallet jacks) safely and efficiently, ensuring proper care and maintenance.
- Assist in the proper disposal of damaged, expired, or obsolete stock in strict accordance with company policy and environmental regulations.
- Prepare comprehensive daily, weekly, or monthly reports on inventory movement, stock status, and other relevant warehouse metrics.
- Collaborate effectively with procurement and project management teams to ensure a smooth, uninterrupted flow of materials to project sites.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (minimum 1 year) in storekeeping, inventory management, or a similar role, preferably in a fast-paced environment.
- Solid basic knowledge of warehouse procedures, operations, and best practices.
- Proficiency in using inventory management software or systems (basic level of competency).
- Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks efficiently.
- Physical capability to perform tasks involving lifting, moving, and stacking materials.
- Good verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
- Basic computer literacy, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- A minimum of a High School Diploma or its equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
- An Ordinary National Diploma (OND) or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a closely related field.
- Previous experience specifically within the construction industry or managing inventory for heavy equipment and construction materials.
- Familiarity with industry-specific safety regulations and procedures in a warehouse setting.
- A valid driver's license.
