As an Assistant Housekeeper, you will play a vital role in upholding our high standards of hygiene and presentation, making every room a sanctuary for our visitors. Key Responsibilities
- Clean and maintain hotel rooms, including bedrooms, bathrooms, and common areas, to Presken Hotels & Resorts’ exacting standards of hygiene and presentation.
- Change linens, make beds, and replace used towels with fresh ones.
- Replenish room amenities such as toiletries, stationery, and refreshments.
- Vacuum carpets, sweep and mop floors, and polish furniture.
- Dust and wipe down surfaces, including windows, mirrors, and fixtures.
- Report any maintenance issues, damages, or missing items promptly to the Housekeeping Supervisor.
- Handle guest requests and inquiries in a polite and efficient manner, escalating complex issues as needed.
- Maintain an organized and tidy housekeeping cart and storage areas.
- Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and hygiene regulations.
- Assist with laundry duties and the proper handling of cleaning chemicals.
- Collaborate effectively with other housekeeping staff and hotel departments to ensure seamless operations.
Required Skills
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to high standards of cleanliness.
- Physical stamina and the ability to lift, bend, push, and pull as required for cleaning duties.
- Strong time management and organizational skills to complete tasks efficiently.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic understanding of cleaning techniques and proper use of cleaning agents.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of 6 months of experience in a housekeeping role, preferably within a hotel or hospitality setting.
- Knowledge of health and safety standards pertinent to the hospitality industry.
- A proactive attitude and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to follow instructions and adapt to changing demands.
- Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSCE) or equivalent.
