Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Chef in daily kitchen operations, including meal preparation, cooking, and plating.
- Ensure all dishes are prepared to the highest standards of quality, taste, and presentation, adhering to company recipes and specifications.
- Oversee proper handling, storage, and rotation of food ingredients to minimize waste and ensure freshness.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen environment in compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering supplies, ensuring efficient stock management.
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and productive team atmosphere.
- Contribute to menu development and innovation, suggesting new dishes or improvements to existing ones.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, reporting any malfunctions or maintenance needs.
- Adhere strictly to all health and safety guidelines within the kitchen.
- Support the Head Chef in managing kitchen workflow during peak hours.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Cook or Assistant Chef in a busy restaurant or hospitality setting.
- Strong knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
- Excellent understanding of food safety and hygiene regulations (HACCP or similar).
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
