Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Chef in the daily preparation and cooking of a wide variety of dishes for staff meals, corporate events, and special functions.
- Ensure all food is prepared to the highest standards of taste, presentation, and quality, strictly adhering to established recipes and stringent health codes.
- Manage and meticulously monitor kitchen inventory, including the precise receiving, proper storing, and efficient rotating of food supplies to minimize waste and ensure optimal freshness.
- Maintain an impeccably clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen environment in full compliance with all food safety regulations (e.g., HACCP principles).
- Actively contribute to menu planning and development, bringing creative ideas and innovative techniques to continually enhance our culinary offerings.
- Safely and efficiently operate and meticulously maintain all kitchen equipment.
- Support the Head Chef in supervising junior kitchen staff and ensuring seamless kitchen operations during peak service hours.
- Adhere strictly to budget guidelines for food costs and efficient resource utilization.
- Collaborate effectively and harmoniously with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery and guest satisfaction.
- Proactively monitor food quality during service and address any issues promptly and professionally.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as an Assistant Chef or a similar culinary role in a busy kitchen environment.
- Strong knowledge of various cooking methods, diverse ingredients, kitchen equipment operation, and standard culinary procedures.
- Solid understanding and practical application of food safety and sanitation regulations (e.g., HACCP certification is a plus).
