Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Head Chef and other culinary staff in the preparation and cooking of various dishes according to recipes and standards.
  • Ensure all food items are prepared to the highest standards of quality, taste, and presentation.
  • Manage ingredient mise en place, including washing, chopping, slicing, and dicing a variety of food items.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and hygienic kitchen workstation and assist with general kitchen cleaning duties.
  • Monitor and manage food inventory, including receiving, proper storage, and rotation of stock to minimize waste.
  • Operate and maintain kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Adhere strictly to food safety and hygiene regulations (HACCP principles).
  • Assist with plating and garnishing dishes for catering events.
  • Collaborate effectively with the kitchen team to ensure smooth and efficient service flow.
  • Contribute to menu development and innovation where appropriate.

Required Skills

  • Proven basic culinary skills and foundational knowledge of cooking techniques.
  • Ability to follow recipes accurately and consistently.
  • Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
