Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled, dedicated, and experienced Full-Time Maintenance Engineer to join our esteemed technical operations team at Arik Air, based in Mbiabong, Uyo. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in maintaining the highest standards of safety and operational integrity for our diverse fleet of aircraft. Your primary responsibility will encompass the meticulous execution of both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks, diagnostics, repairs, and preventative measures, all strictly in accordance with the stringent regulatory guidelines set forth by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), as well as specific aircraft manufacturer specifications and company procedures. Key Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, repairs, inspections, and modifications on Arik Air aircraft in accordance with regulatory and company standards.
- Accurately troubleshoot and diagnose complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and avionic system malfunctions using approved procedures and tools.
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) regulations, manufacturer's manuals (AMM, SRM), and company policies and procedures.
- Complete all necessary documentation meticulously, including logbooks, work orders, maintenance release forms, and defect reports.
- Collaborate effectively with flight crew, ground staff, and other maintenance personnel to ensure smooth operations and efficient problem resolution.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times, adhering to all health and safety protocols.
- Actively participate in continuous training and professional development programs to stay current with evolving aircraft technology, systems, and industry best practices.
- Conduct thorough pre-flight, through-flight, and post-flight inspections as required to ensure aircraft airworthiness.
- Identify, requisition, and manage necessary parts, tools, and equipment for maintenance tasks efficiently.
- Respond promptly and effectively to AOG (Aircraft On Ground) situations, implementing corrective actions to minimize operational disruptions.
Required Skills
- Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) with relevant type ratings (e.g., Boeing 737, Bombardier CRJ series)
- Minimum of 5 years of verifiable practical experience in aircraft maintenance, specifically on commercial aircraft.
- Profound knowledge of aircraft systems including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and avionics.
- Proficient in interpreting and applying technical manuals, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and regulatory documents.
- Exceptional troubleshooting and diagnostic skills for complex aircraft systems.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure, often in dynamic and varied weather conditions.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork abilities.
- High degree of attention to detail and an unwavering commitment to aviation safety.
- Computer literacy for utilizing maintenance software, digital record-keeping, and diagnostic tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Aeronautical Engineering, Aircraft Maintenance Technology, or a closely related field.
- Additional certifications or type ratings on multiple aircraft models relevant to Arik Air's fleet.
- Prior experience with advanced maintenance planning and control systems (e.g., AMOS, TRAX).
- Familiarity and practical experience with quality assurance and safety management system (SMS) procedures in aviation.
- Experience working in an EASA Part-145 or FAA Part-145 approved maintenance organization.
