As a Baggage Handler, you will play a critical role behind the scenes, directly responsible for the meticulous loading and unloading of baggage, cargo, and mail onto and from aircraft, as well as transporting these items to and from the terminal. This position demands unwavering attention to detail, a strong and uncompromised commitment to safety protocols, and the ability to work effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced, often outdoor environment, regardless of prevailing weather conditions. Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently load and unload passenger baggage, cargo, and mail onto and from various aircraft types.
- Transport baggage to and from the terminal and aircraft using appropriate ground support equipment, adhering to strict timelines.
- Operate and maintain various ground support equipment, including tugs, belt loaders, and baggage carts, in a safe and efficient manner.
- Accurately sort and tag baggage to ensure correct routing and prevent misplacements.
- Adhere strictly to all Arik Air and airport safety regulations, security procedures, and operational guidelines.
- Conduct pre-operational checks on assigned equipment and promptly report any malfunctions, damage, or safety concerns.
- Work effectively and collaboratively as part of a team to meet tight deadlines and maintain rigorous flight schedules.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times, both in the baggage handling areas and around the aircraft.
- Assist with other ground operations duties as required by supervisors to support overall airport operations.
